Attorney Ashley Jones has completed a 24 hour course on DWI/DUI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.
This course included a written exam, as well as a practical exam where Ms. Jones had to accurately and correctly administer field sobriety tests. Field sobriety tests are the tests that are given to a driver on the side of the road who is suspected of being impaired. You might hear them referred to as the “eye test” (where the driver follows a pen with their eyes), balancing on one foot, or walking nine steps.
This 24 hour course is the same course that law enforcement take to become a police officer.
Knowing how police officers are taught to think about and administer these tests is key in defending these cases.
We are excited to use this new knowledge and skills in defending DUI/OVI cases.
